Today, our process is different. An AI-powered research agent gets to work before we even open our inbox.

This isn't just about summarizing a message; it's about building a complete intelligence brief on every new lead, automatically.

A Peek Under the Hood: The Automated Research Agent

Our workflow, built in n8n, acts like a junior analyst for our team. Here’s a breakdown of its four key missions every time a new lead comes in from Pipedrive.

Mission 1: The Hunt for the Official Website

Before anything else, the agent’s first task is to find the lead's correct website. It takes the company name and phone number and uses an AI-powered search. It's specifically programmed to look for a "golden signal": a search result where the company's phone number appears in the description. This ensures it finds the real company site, not just a directory listing.

Mission 2: Reading the Website for Context

Once the official website is confirmed with high confidence, the workflow sends a "crawler" to read the content on its pages. This gathers raw information about the company’s services, mission, and messaging, just like a person would.

Mission 3: The AI Sales Briefing

This is where the real magic happens. The workflow combines all the information it has—the lead's details and the content from their website—and sends it to Google's Gemini AI. It asks the AI to generate a comprehensive "Sales Intelligence Brief." This brief is then checked to ensure it contains a lead score before proceeding.

Mission 4: The Intelligent Update (Pipedrive)

The final step is the most crucial. The agent doesn't just dump this brief into a single note. It intelligently parses its own report and updates dozens of specific, custom fields in Pipedrive.

  • The Lead record is updated with the AI Score, suggested email snippets, and identified service areas.
  • The Organization record is enriched with the company's website, industry, address, and more.
  • Finally, the full brief is added as a new pinned note, but only after the workflow checks to see if an old AI summary note already exists to avoid duplicates.

The Result: From Raw Lead to Rich Profile in Seconds

This automated agent turns a simple form submission into a rich, actionable profile without any human intervention. Our team can now engage with new leads faster, with more context, and with a deeper understanding of their business from the very first email.
